Ann Arbor Art Center Opens NEW Gallery with Inaugural Exhibition

The A2AC’s inaugural art exhibition, SHARING SPACE, is the first exhibition of the 2022 exhibition season. It coincides with the grand opening of the new 1200 sq. ft. street-facing A2AC Gallery located in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. This exhibition is curated by Ashley Miller, Interim Gallery Director, with support from the A2AC Exhibition Committee. It opens on Friday, May 20th, and runs through July 8th, 2022.

The public Opening Reception will be held in the FULLY RENOVATED gallery at 117 W. Liberty on Friday, May 27th, from 6-9 pm. Most exhibiting artists, A2AC Staff, and Committee Members will attend. Admittance to the A2AC Gallery is free, but donations are always appreciated; they help keep the gallery free and open to everyone. All ages are welcome.

You may wear a mask at your discretion to the opening of Sharing Space. All A2AC staff members are fully vaccinated and will be wearing masks at their discretion. If you need a mask, we are happy to provide one upon request at no cost. Hand sanitizer will also be readily available for guests to use.

“Sharing Space is about making room for different voices and opinions, navigating new levels of comfort with human interaction and intimacy, and finding ways to achieve connection even in moments of isolation and transition.” ─ Ashley Miller.

This exhibition, and the inaugural season, are made possible with support from Vintage Financial Services, DUO Security (now a part of Cisco), the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Michigan Arts & Culture Council.
