Catch Detroit Artist Laura Earle in new exhibit at Charlevoix Circle of Arts

Wood + Metal is a fine art exhibition featuring the interplay of these two materials, coming to the Charlevoix Circle of Arts this month. Artists include Laura Earle, Dawson Moore, Paul Rytlewski and Richard Small.

According to Laura Kelly, exhibit coordinator, the exhibit explores fine craft and functional art – specifically made of wood and metal.

“They often go hand in hand,” said Kelly. “Much of the functional art we were inspired by-- furniture, jewelry, lighting, tableware—utilized wood and metal, solidifying the concept for this exhibition.”

Based in Detroit, Laura Earle will show three works in this exhibition. She is an independent curator and multi-media artist whose practice centers on contemporary conceptual work meant to open a dialogue on issues related to social justice including gender parity, racial equality and healing our environment.

The Charlevoix Circle of Arts is a nonprofit organization that’s mission is to cultivate a more inspired and educated community through the arts. The exhibition gallery is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 3p.m., and is located at 109 Clinton Street in downtown Charlevoix.
