Spend Spring Break at Grand Rapids Public Museum

Spend Spring Break at the Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) this year, taking place April 1-10 to enjoy three floors of engaging exhibits - including the Museum’s newest exhibit Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs - see captivating planetarium shows, play games in the main galleria and more.

With a general admission ticket, visitors can now enjoy all of the GRPM’s exhibits. Come face-to-face with the prehistoric reptiles that flew among the dinosaurs in Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs, experience all three floors of core exhibits including visitor favorites such as The Streets of Old Grand Rapids and West Michigan Habitats, and explore the Museum through the new digital game Sturgeon Excursion

Visitors can also relax, recline and experience the incredible forces of our universe in the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium with shows for all ages and interests. This year, six spring break shows will play daily including titles: Starlight Safari, Space School, Subatomic: Detecting the Unseen, Under Starlit Skies, Star Lore and Dark Side: The Light Show. Planetarium shows are $4 with general admission to the Museum, $2 for Museum members, and $5 for a planetarium-only ticket. Visit grpm.org/Planetarium for a complete list of showtimes and descriptions.

“Spring Break at the GRPM is the perfect staycation destination for families of all ages to indulge in a full day of exploration, learning and, of course, fun,” said Kate Kocienski, the GRPM’s VP of Marketing & PR. “We’re pleased to offer all exhibits for one ticket price, with planetarium shows available for a small add-on fee! Visitors can explore three floors of exhibits - including our newest exhibit Pterosaurs - play arcade games, have lunch in the Cafe and enjoy a unique shopping experience in the Curiosity Shop. There’s truly something for everyone.”

Advance ticket purchase is recommended before you visit to ensure a seamless and contactless entry for each visitor. The GRPM offers discounts for Kent County residents including free admission for Kent County children aged 17 and under every day.  The GRPM has also joined the Museums for All program, an initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), to offer reduced general admission to EBT/WIC cardholders.
