From Charlotte to the Silver Screen, Michigan-born Actor Makes Major Motion Picture Debut

For each and every artist, it started somewhere. There is a journey to finding artistic success, and Michigan-born actor, MacGregor Arney, has found himself starring alongside internationally recognized actors like Zac Efron, Russell Crowe and Bill Murray in the motion picture film, “The Greatest Beer Run Ever.”

The film which made its world premiere on September 13, 2022 at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival tells the story of Chickie who wants to support his friends fighting in Vietnam, so he does something wild by personally bringing them American beer. It starts as a well-meaning journey, but quickly changes Chickie’s life and perspective.

The film which is based on a true story, is the major motion picture film debut for the Michigan-born actor. MacGregor Arney grew up performing in all of the productions at Charlotte High School, before attending Western Michigan University to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, and then receiving a Master of Fine Art in Acting in 2016 at the University of California, San Diego.

His theatrical credits have taken him around the country performing in productions at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Anacostia Playhouse, La Jolla Playhouse, Guthrie Theatre Experience, Theatre Wit and Mixed Blood Theatre just to name a few. His film credits are also include a vast array of shorts including “Winner, Winner,” “Marked,” and a full-length film, “Thrashers” in 2018.

This most recent film project for Arney will be available to stream on Apple TV Plus beginning September 29, 2022.
